About the event

Presented by Unified Krav Maga and Mountain View Family Therapy for women who have experienced trauma through sexual assault, domestic or interpersonal violence, assault, stalking, and other forms of violence against women.  This class is meant to help you restore your sense of strength and control and find the peace needed to go from victim to victor while learning real-world self-defense at the same time! Class includes a brief overview of self-defense and its use in recovery for those who have experienced violence, physical training with trauma-informed instructors, and a short group debrief session to process what was learned as a group.  Mental health clinicians will be on-site during the training for support.

 

This class is one of a kind workshop with limited space available so please register early!

 

Due to the sensitive nature of this workshop, this will be a closed and private event for registered attendees, UKM instructors, and Mountain View Family Therapy counselors only.  No observers or cameras allowed during this event.  

 

About the creator of the program:

Joseph Gleed, MSWi  

 

Joseph has worked with adults, teens, and kids, specializing with those who have experienced trauma.  He has worked for many years with groups such as Operation Underground Railroad, The Elizabeth Smart Foundation, Fight Like Girls, and more assisting in the recovery of trafficked children, women who have been assaulted, and those that have experienced traumatic events in their lives.  

Joseph has been awarded  Diplomat for the Comisión Internacional De Derechos Humanos for his work with children who have been trafficked in Mexico.  He is trauma-focused cognitive behavioral therapy trained and uses cognitive behavioral therapy with a strengths-focused approach, believing that individuals have the capacity to overcome the challenges they face.  

Joseph is also a world-renowned self-defense expert who has been featured many times on ABC and NBC News, he has taught workshops around the country and world for military, law enforcement, women's groups, and civilians.  He is the founder and chief instructor of Unified Krav Maga and has certified instructors worldwide.
