About the event

Due to the sensitive nature of this workshop, registration is only open to women and women-identified participants. Participants 12+ are invited to attend however, those younger than 18 must be accompanied by a legal guardian.

Unified Krav Maga is dedicated to help end violence against women and support those who have experienced violence to heal. Our next event for our Women's Self-Defense series will focus on fighting from the ground!

Join us for this hands on and active workshop as we learn how to fight and defend ourselves from the ground position using a Gracie Jiu-Jitsu ground fighting system. This system is designed to be effective for everyone, regardless of size and strength. Integrated within our Krav Maga instruction, we will practice how to fight from a disadvantaged position and defend yourself from attacks. We will train together as we build our inner fighter, confidence and empowerment in a fun, ego-free and supportive environment! Course taught by Chief Instructor/Owner Joseph Gleed and Unified Krav Maga lead instructors.

During this workshop we will learn real-world self-defense skills including:

- Ground movement and positions

- Striking from the ground

- Defenses from the ground position

- Ground control

- and more!

Attendee Checklist. Please note specific COVID-19 requirements (subject to change):

- Bring a face covering/mask.

- If you are sick or have been exposed to COVID-19, please stay home.

- Wear comfortable clothes for training. As a ground fighting class, we encourage wearing tighter-fitting clothing (spats, leggings, rash guard). Indoor shoes or bare feet only on the mats.

- Bring a water bottle.

We know that anyone who has experienced violence is NEVER to blame or at fault and that knowing self-defense does not indicate that someone could have defended themselves in the past. This workshop and how we train, is all about cultivating our inner fighter through an empowerment approach as we support each other.
