Combat Conditioning

Service Description

This class is open to all students of ALL LEVELS. Boxing gloves and mouth guard are required for all classes. Groin cups are highly encouraged. Indoor, non-marking shoes or bare feet only on the training floor. This class will be continual movement with little time wasted. We incorporate High Intensity Circuit Training with rest periods consisting of core work, weight training or other low intensity exercises. This format trains the body how to recover while still active. The workouts and exercises preformed are designed to improve an individuals performance in combat sports. The primary goals of this class include: 1) Conditioning designed to prevent injuries and increase performance. We will focus on hip mobility and core stability as tight hips and an unstable core are precursors to a majority of injuries in combat sports. 2) Develop joint mobility, motor control, strength, and power in all three planes of movement to meet the variable movement demands of the combat sporting environment. 3) Exercises are functional and centered around joints and muscles groups or chains; these are natural or primitive movements used by all humans: as opposed to exercises which focused on specific muscles. Some examples are; hip dominate, knee dominate, vertical push/pull and horizontal push/pull movements: all of these movements use chains of muscles and require multiple joint interaction as opposed to the curl which involves only a single joint and the biceps. Class sizes are limited and students must reserve their spot before hand. You can cancel your registration through your member portal and be added to the waitlist.
